About
Prerana Shrestha is an environmental and social safeguard professional with a diverse experience of working in infrastructure projects for Environmental Assessment, Biodiversity Analysis and Resettlement planning. She has also contributed in the environmental assessment for riverbed material extraction, carbon estimation and operational plans of community forestry. She is a graduate of Forestry Science and holds a Master's degree in Natural Resource Management and Rural Development. As an Environment and Forestry Expert, she has led baseline surveys, impact assessments, stakeholder consultations, public hearings, grievance redress mechanisms, and preparation of Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs). She has also contributed to various Environmental and Climate related research. With a strong background in Forestry, Biodiversity, Rural Development and GIS, she brings integrated environmental and social expertise to development projects in Nepal. She has contributed to Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Nepal projects through GIS and STEM mapping and safeguard compliance. At Himalayan Research Forum Nepal, she supports environmental and social assessments in line with national regulations and international safeguard standards, with a strong commitment for socially inclusive and environmentally responsible development.
