About
Anil Bhandari is an accomplished climate change and environmental expert with over 15 years of experience in national adaptation planning, disaster risk reduction, and institutional capacity building. Currently serving as the Advisor for Climate & Disaster Resilience at Himshikhara Socio Cultural Society, he provides strategic technical guidance to advance community-based adaptation and climate-resilient development. Anil holds an M.Sc. in Environment Management and serves as a Visiting Faculty Member at the Nepal Mountain Academy, where he researches and teaches Himalayan climate change and mountain meteorology. His extensive professional history includes leading capacity-building initiatives for the Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (RIMES) and managing carbon offset projects for the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna. A prolific researcher, he has authored numerous publications on climate vulnerability, ecosystem services, and policy analysis, consistently working to align local actions with global climate frameworks.
